How do I calculate my dog's portion?Updated 9 months ago

We try to learn as much as possible about your dog through our quiz. The more thoroughly and honestly you answer, the better we can assess your dog’s needs. Your dog’s weight and activity level are used to recommend portion size. Your calculated portion size will be in cups per day. 

Calories recommended are specific to raw food diets and the daily nutrient values your dog needs to meet their body’s performance requirements. Raw food has an extremely high nutrient availability (no nutrients are lost or damaged in cooking, drying, etc), so the volume of food (number of cups) will likely differ from the volume of kibble or cooked food you feed.

We always talk about calories as “per day.” When comparing to other food brand recommendations, compare by calories per day or by grams of protein. If you create a profile, we can recommend the exact amount of food that your dog should be eating—we do this based on the answers you provide in your profile. We also include instructions on how to easily give your dog the right amount of food every day.
